Studio Noodle is a design and illustration studio with 8 years of experience working with academics, healthcare professionals, charities and community groups.

I create bold and impactful images (often live) to help communicate the stories and research of organisations across the country. My studio is based in Sheffield, but I am always ready to hop on a train to wherever I'm are needed next.

What can a Noodle do for you?

A woman presents in front of a live drawing. In boxes next to her people engage with the drawing on laptops, phones and printed posters.
  • It's a tangible record of your event; drawn before your eyes and can be read and understood in seconds.
  • It's useful content to print or share after your event to keep engagement rolling.
  • Add Noodles to funding bids or proposals as easy evidence of the impact of your engagement work.

"Is it AI?"

That's one of the questions I hear the most when I'm out Noodling. The answer is no, I listen and draw by hand - simple as that.

Here's 4 reasons why I think it's important to have a person behind the pencil:

A speech bubble with a padlock inside and an icon that indicates that it should not be drawn.

1. I can read the room

Not everything I hear needs to be captured. Some ideas or discussions are only for the people in the room and some stories are incredibly personal and told in confidence. An empathetic person can feel what's right or wrong to capture, but you can also tell me if there's anything you don't want to include.

2. I can ask for clarification

The best thing about drawing in a room full of experts, is that it's a room full of experts! Who better to ask for clarification or to help explain a complicated concept. Sometimes it takes an extra bit of digging to really understand a topic and then make it visual, but if we're all in the space together (in person or virtually) it's a lot easier.

3. You can talk to me

I share the Noodles on a large screen and encourage any speaker, participant or viewer to come and talk to me about what I've captured. I work digitally so anything can be fixed or redrawn. I always prefer the end result to be a collaboration!

4. Your data and IP are protected

Like I’ve already said, I just listen and draw. I don’t use generative AI or send your data who-knows-where to be processed and turned into imagery. Why would I outsource the fun bit? Between what I hear and what I draw it’s a closed loop and you have final say on what is or isn’t included in the final images.
